Madeline Studio Opens Doors to Students
In addition to being an active performer, Travis Wesley is also a music educator who holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in music and jazz studies. Travis works out of his studio in Normal, IL, Madeline Studios where he is to begin accepting students of all ages for applied jazz and classical piano. Travis has over 12 years of experience teaching students of all ages and is closely affiliated academically and professionally with the flourishing music and arts community in Central Illinois. Thus, he is able to provide a platform for learning based on applied study, exposure to the areas best music professionals and educators and real life experience. Travis has directed several of the jazz combos at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois and has considerable classroom teaching experience as well. He is qualified to teach applied jazz and classical piano, jazz improvisation techniques for most instruments, music history, music business, general music theory, jazz theory, ear training, composition and arranging techniques and jazz history. In addition to academic course work in general jazz history, Travis has conducted extensive research in various areas of jazz and American history including the life and music of Charlie "Bird" Parker, the life and music of pianist, Bud Powell and the history of jazz in Kansas City to name a few.

Applied Piano Lessons

Lesson Rates:

$30.00 per hour lesson / $20.00 per half hour lesson (hourly lessons recommended for more advanced students).

Educational Clinics

Travis is available for jazz clinics and master classes for college, highschool and elementary students.

Clinic Rates:

Local (Bloomington, Peoria and Champaign areas): $400-$500 depending on length and usually consists of Travis' regular jazz trio (piano, upright bass and drums).

Non Local: Negotiable based on travel time and expenses.
